For those contemplating a tour of Middle Europe, the usual option is a land based coach tour offering overnight stops and long road journeys. This attractive itinerary offers an ideal alternative of relatively short journeys by road, whilst the major part of the itinerary is undertaken aboard a first class river vessel.

Fly to Prague and board the MS Johannes Brahms, one of the few river vessels that are able to navigate the Vlatava right into the centre of Prague. Moor overnight in Prague and spend the next morning exploring this most engaging of cities before rejoining the vessel for our journey that will take us all the way to Berlin. Our passage will take us through the lovely Elbsandstein Mountains, where the Elbe has cut a deep valley through sandstone rocks and to culturally rich Dresden. Continuing north, we will visit the famous porcelain producing town of Meissen, Luther’s home town of Wittenberg, historic Magdeburg and penultimately to Potsdam to visit the glorious Sans Souci Palace. Our journey will end in the German capital of Berlin where we will see the major sights and take in the enormous changes that have taken place in the last decade.
